Rules

We here at Backseat Gamers want a fun community for everyone, so we have a few rules to make sure we can all play together. These are all pretty broad, common sense things that you've probably found elsewhere:

The Major Rules

1) Post in Good Faith: Everyone here wants to have a good time, and there's no reason to go out of your way to ruin someone's day. If, in our judgement, your post was posted for the purpose of getting people angry, then that's against the rules.

2) Cyberbullying is Bad: Going off of the previous rule, don't harass other posters or try to make them feel unwelcome. It takes all kinds in this crazy world of ours, and bullying isn't cool.

2a) Don't harass, attack, or otherwise be rude to people because of their race/religion/gender/sex or any other sensitive aspect of their personal identity.

3) Don't Break the Law: Don't doxx people, don't link to piracy websites, and don't try to solicit illegally copied material either. This also goes for any other US laws you could try to break on these forums.

4) Be Mature: Sometimes people will disagree with you. That doesn't mean they're trolling, and you should engage with them in good faith. If you feel like they are trolling, report their post to let us know, but don't announce you've reported them. That's both bad etiquette, and immature.

The Minor Rules
5) Thread Necromancy is Fine: We don't put threads in archive mode. If you find an old comment from Google search and want to respond, then go ahead.
6) Don't Rent-A-Mod: Don't tell people what is or isn't allowed, and don't police people's behavior. At most, PM them a link to this post. If you have issues with someone's behavior, report it to a mod and we'll take care of it.
7) Don't Spam: We'll delete obvious spam on sight, and if you start spamming right after signing up your account will be banned. This is a bit of a hardline stance, and if you feel we acted in error then you can politely voice your concerns to a moderator via email.
We reserve the right to remove messages that violate the rules. Violation of these rules will result in a warning, or, depending on the severity of the situation and the rule-breaker's history of breaking them, a ban.
